Together Academy Vocational Training Programme

This project is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union.

Together Academy’s Expand Programme includes the creation of a new vocational employment programme, supported by a pathways to employment and diversity & inclusion team.

This programme co-financed by the EU Employment, Inclusion, Skills, and Training Programme (EIST) 2021-2027 and the Department of Social Protection (DSP).

This joint-funding structure provides funding support to local projects that are focused on achieving improved employment outcomes for people with disabilities through a range of support measures.

The Objectives of this programming are:

  1. Improving the employment prospects of our students and graduates, young adults with Down syndrome. This includes individuals who are not currently engaged in meaningful employment.

  2. Supporting a growing number of employers in recruiting, retaining and progressing adults with Down syndrome within their workforce.

  3. Facilitating new partnerships amongst key stakeholders in the project, including young adults with Down syndrome, their families, disability services, and both current and potential employers. These partnerships will be focusing on adapting new approaches to supporting our students and graduates in employment opportunities.

Our Expand Together programme aims to ensure adults with Down syndrome are fully supported in accessing training to build employability skills while liaising with employers and programme participants to ensure successful employment following completion of vocational training.
